Qadha Umri Salaah Calculation

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

I would like to know how do I go about reading my Qadha Salaah if:

I don’t know how many salaah I have missed since I became baligh?

Answer:

You should try and estimate the number of Salaah missed since puberty and perform the Qadha accordingly. If for some reason this is not possible, then you should continue making Qadha of your missed Salaah until your heart is at ease that you completed all your missed Salaah. When making Qadha of the missed Salaah (in this instance) you should make your Niyyah as follows; “I am making Qadha of the first Fajr Salaah that I missed, or the last Fajr Salaah that I missed.” You should continue making your Niyyah in this manner until your heart is at ease that all the missed Salaah have been completed. This procedure should be followed for all the missed Salaah (i.e. Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Esha and Witr).
