Q: Will Allah reveal which Ijtihad was correct in the Hereafter on any given issue? For example, will Allah reveal who was correct in the issue of Rafa’ yadain(raising the hands in salaah) between the Hanafis/Malikis and Shafis? Will such revelations take place and will we know which mujtahid arrived correctly at an ijtihad?
A: It is our belief that the mujtahid who was correct will be rewarded double the reward of the one who errs hence we learn in order for this to take place there has to be some decision as to who erred and who was successful.
