Fasting Two Days for Arafah

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

Q: I just want to clear the confusion. Some say that if we keep fast, we should fast for two days instead of one day because its the Jews that keep fast for one day. I’m referring to the fasts for arafah. I kept only one fast yesterday. I didn’t keep one today and eid is tomorrow.  My grandma said it’s an act of the Jews.

A: The two days fast applies to Muharram (Aashooraa) and not to this fast of Arafah. One fast can be kept for Arafah.
