Reading Durood after Second Rakaat

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: In a 4 rakaat farz namaz (salah) after 2 rakaats by mistake if I read durood shareef only  till ‘allah humma’ after attahiyaat has been finished, do I have to do sajda sahw?

A. If in the first sitting of a three or four Rakaat Salaah one recited this much of the Durood after Tashahhud: ALLAHUMMA SALLI  ALAA MUHAMMADIN… then one should stop the Durood immediately and stand up to continue with the rest of the Salaah. In the last sitting Sajdah Sahw has to be made for this mistake. Sajdah Sahw will not be necessary if one recited less than the above amount.
