Which Ayaats are Ayat ush Shifaa? If a Masbuq unmindfully makes Salaam with the Imam, is his Salah valid?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1. Which Ayats of the Holy Quran are referred to as the Ayat-e-Shifa

2. Someone have come lately to Jamaat and missed one or more rakats of salah behind Imam. When the Imam finishes the salah by doing salam, he also unmindfully have done salam but immediately realizes the mistake and stood up for making up the missed rakaats. Whether his Salah was valid or he had to repeat the full Salah again?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1)     Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi has mentioned in his book (Remedies From The Holy Quran), the following six Ayaat should be recited for cure from any illness;[1]

wa yashfi sudoora qawmin mumineena
And [Allah] shall heal the breast of the believers. (at-Tawba, 9:14)

wa shifaun limaa fee as-sudoori wa hudan wa rahmatun lil-mumineen
And a healing for (the diseases) in your hearts, and for those who believe a guidance and a mercy. (Yunus, 10:57)

yakhruju min butooniha sharaabun mukhtalifun alwaanuhu feehi shifaun lin-naas
There issues from within the bodies of the bee a drink of varying colors wherein is healing for mankind. (an-Nahl, 16:69)

Wa nunazzilu mina al-qurani ma huwa shifaun wa rahmatun lil-mumineen
And We sent down in the Quran such things that have healing and mercy for the believers (an-Najm, 17:82)

Wa idha maridtu fahuwa yashfeeni
And when I am ill, it is [Allah] who cures me.” (ash-Shu`ara, 26:80)

qul huwa lil-ladheena amanoo hudan wa shifaun
And declare (O Muhammad) that [the Quran] is a guidance and healing for the believers. (al-Fussilat, 41:44)

2)     If a Masbuq (a person who has joined with the Imam after the first rakah) unmindfully makes Salaam with the Imam, but immediately realizes and stood up for making up the missed Rakaats, he would have to perform Sajdah-Sahw upon the completion of the missed Rakaats[2]

The procedure of Sajda-e-Sahw is to make only one Salaam after reciting the Tashahhud (Attahiyyat) and perform two Sajdahs. Thereafter, repeat the Tashahhud, recite Durood-e-Ebraahim, Du’aa and complete Salaat by making two Salaams.

Your previous Salah is valid. There is no need to repeat it.[3]
