Is it permissible to work as relationship manager in a bank?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

My cousin is a relationship manager in a bank.is his income halal? And are energy drinks like redbull, sting etc halal?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1.      A relationship manager’s primary job is to sell. The difference between a run-of-the-mill salesman and a relationship manager is the length of the sales cycle and the ongoing nature of the relationship. Whereas a salesman looks to meet an immediate need, a relationship manager looks to meet the immediate and long-term needs of a client. [1]

In terms of Shariah, working as a relationship manager for a conventional type bank is impermissible as generally the products of such banks are interest related or have other unislamic components in it.

2.      Red bull energy drink is Halaal. We have no information on Sting energy drink. You may refer to SANHA for guidance on that.
