1. i have many clothes which are branded nike. i know it is haram to wear such garments as nike represents a greek god.Inshallah i have made intention not to purchase such garments again but my question is can i give the nike clothes that i already have to charity to give to the needy?if not what should i do with them. i am waiting for your answer so i know what action to take.
2. i used to work for barclays bank for ten years and few months ago i was offered redundancy which i accepted.i felt this was a blessing in disguise as all this time i felt uncomfortable as i know working in a bank is not permissible but never left due to being comfortable in the job.,For all the  time i was working my brother refused to accept food or clothes from me as he said that they have been bought by haram money. its been very upsetting but is his behaviour acceptable?is everything i bought with this money haram?  also please make dua that i find a more suitable employment in line with sharia.

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

We commend your pursuit of knowledge and your keenness to seek what is lawful and avoids what is not. We earnestly implore Allah to bless your efforts in this honorable way.

We acknowledge receipt of your e-mail correspondence and our response follows hereunder:-

(1)   If you already have Nike products, then it will suffice to remove the Nike logos from them.

(2)   It is not permissible according to Shariah to have a job in a conventional bank, which involves the employees in prohibited transactions like interest. Such a job being Haraam income received through it is not Halaal. If a bank employee has no other source of income or most of his income is derived through this impermissible job, it should be avoided to have food at his house or to take anything gifts from him.

The important point here is that one must exert all possible ways and means in order to a find an alternative job. If one puts in the effort and is willingly ready to accept comparatively reduced benefits, then there is no reason why a suitable job is not found.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows Best

Wassalamu Alaykum
