May Allah reward you for this site.

1. If the imam makes a mistake in his salat, and forgets to make sajda sahw, can the follower make sajda sahw on his own?
2. Is it sunnah to make dua between the break in the khutbah( in the jumma salat when the imam sits down for a while)?

Jazakallah

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

1) If the imam forgets to make sajda sahw after missing a wajib (obligatory) part of salat, the muqtadee (follower) cannot perform sajda sahw on his own. It will be necessary for all to repeat the salat.

2) It is permissible to make dua at the time when the khateeb (speaker) sits on the mimbar (pulpit) between the two khutbas. However, one must make dua in his heart and not verbally. The hands should not be raised at this time either.
