Should I take my child for Hajj?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamu Alaikkum. Respected Mufti saheb

Seeking your kind advice . Inshaallah me and my wife planning for hajj this year , is it permissible to drop my 3year old boy in india with my parents or is it more rewardable to carry him as well. Jazakallahu khaira

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Fardh Hajj is a once in a life time obligation and an act of ibadat.

One should plan one’s Hajj carefully to maximize one’s time in the special privileged ibadaat of Hajj, for example, making many Umrahs and Tawafs etc.

Furthermore, Hajj is also demanding on one’s physical self.

A three-year-old child would require constant care which will impede in one deriving maximum benefit from the special and privileged ibadaat of Hajj.

We advise the child be left in the care of someone who can be trusted and also take good care of the child.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
