Inheritance for females

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

How will the inheritance of parents with only female issues be
distributed? Who else is entitled to a share. Can parents leave a will
that conforms to laws of a country.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If a person is survived by only one daughter and no sons, the daughter will inherit half the estate after burial expenses, debts, and bequests if any. If the person is survived by two daughters or more and there is no son, the daughters will inherit two thirds of the estate according to the above mentioned sequence.

The remaining amount after the share of the daughter(s) will be distributed according to the Shari’ah Laws of Inheritance and Succession. You did not provide information on the remaining heirs for us to advise you on that.[1]

An Islamic will is facilitated in law and upheld. [2]
