Missed Ramadan Fasts: When and How to Make Them Up?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: When can a woman can keep her missed fasts which were left due to menses during the month of Ramadaan? Is it obligatory to keep all missed fasts of Ramadaan in the same year and can not be kept after one or two years?

Bismillaah

A:

1. Anytime after Ramadhaan.

2. This is incorrect. If one did not complete the missed fast during that year, then they should complete it later on. However it is not good to delay in making up for the missed fast of Ramadhaan.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
