Q: I am 26 years old and have 5 elder sisters and a mother and no brothers. According to Islam can a women expose her breast in front of a mahram man and husband? During house-chores my mother and sisters expose their half breast and sometime full breast, this causes my private part to become erect and I have a discharge. I have no sexual desire with my mahrams but the beauty of the breast always make me have a discharge. My friend told me that this is not haraam or sin. You can easily discharge without any fear. Is this haraam or sin?
A: Normal people do not conduct in this way walking with the full breast opened in the house before others. Though mention is made in the books of fiqh that a mahram can look at the breast of a mahram however this can be understood in the context where a woman was breast feeding a child and her mahram entered the room and his sight had fallen on her breast, it will not be regarded as haraam. However this does not mean that she must walk before her mahrams with her breast open. This is not in keeping with respect. Further, since this is stirring up wrong feelings and temptations within you, then you should refrain from looking at their breasts.

( وينظر الرجل من الرجل ) ومن غلام بلغ حد الشهوة مجتبى ولو أمرد صبيح الوجه وقد مر في الصلاة والأولى تنكير الرجل لئلا يتوهم أن الأول عين الثاني وكذا الكلام فيما بعد قهستاني قلت وقرينة المقام تكفي فتدبر ثم نقل عن الزاهدي أنه لو نظر لعورة غيره بإذنه لم يأثم قلت وفيه نظر ظاهر بل لفظ الزاهدي نظر لعورة غيره وهي غير بادية لم يأثم انتهى فليحفظ ( سوى ما بين سرته إلى ما تحت ركبته ) فالركبة عورة لا السرة ( ومن عرسه وأمته الحلال ) له وطؤها فخرج المجوسية والمكاتبة والمشتركة ومنكوحة الغير والمحرمة برضاع أو مصاهرة فحكمها كالأجنبية مجتبى ويشكل بالمفضاة فإنه لا يحل له وطؤها وينظر إليها قهستاني قلت وقد يجاب بأنه أغلبي ( إلى فرجها ) بشهوة وغيرها والأولى تركه لأنه يورث النسيان ( ومن محرمه ) هي من لا يحل له نكاحها أبدا بنسب أو سبب ولو بزنا ( إلى الرأس والوجه والصدر والساق والعضد إن أمن شهوته ) وشهوتها أيضا ذكره في الهداية فمن قصره على الأول فقد قصر ابن كمال ( وإلا لا لا إلى الظهر والبطن ) خلافا للشافعي ( والفخذ ) وأصله قوله تعالى { ولا يبدين زينتهن إلا لبعولتهن } الآية وتلك المذكورات مواضع الزينة بخلاف الظهر ونحوه ( وحكم أمة غيره ) ولو مدبرة أو أم ولد ( كذلك ) فينظر إليها كمحرمة ( الدر المختار 6/ 364-367)
