Is it OK to do Tawaf after Asr time?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

It was so good to see you in Coventry again the other day. I was in Umrah a couple of months ago and my question relates to nafil Tawaf, or for that matter the faradh tawaf whilst in Ihram. Is it possible to do Tawaf after Asr time, and if so, do you read your two rakaats Namaaz immediately, or do you have to wait until after Maghrib, to read the 2 rakaats?

Answer

Tawaf after Asr is not only allowed, it is more virtuous because of the Barkat of the time after Fajr and after Asr. However, Tahiyyatut-tawaf should be delayed until after sunset or sunrise.
