Consequences of the somewhat disliked (makruh tanzihan) if made a habit

I heard recently that major scholars of the madhab, including ibn ‘Abidin, say that a consequence of carelessly persisting in the makruh tanzihi is that one cannot make shifa’a for one’s relatives on the Day of Judgement nor receive their shifa’a. Is this correct?
