When doing compulsory Ghusl one does Wudu before the main Ghusl. However touching one’s private parts nullifies the Wudu. Would it be best to leave Wudu until after you have dried yourself?

In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth.
In the Hanafi school it is sunna to make wudu as part of the ghusl, and the place for that is actually before pouring water over the entire body. Also, in the hanafi school, the wudhu is not broken by merely touching one’s private parts. hence, for one following the Hanafi school, it would be recommended to follow the procedure, of cleaning the filth from one’s body, followed by making the sunna wudhu, and completing with pouring water over the entire body.
And Allah knows best.
