My cousins and I sacrificed a calf together for Qurbani. Five of us partook in this sacrifice. After Qurbani, some of our relatives said that seven people must participate in the sacrifice for Qurbani and it is not valid from only five people. Please tell us the law regarding this as per Shari’ah.

Just like seven people can participate in the sacrifice of a calf that is two years or older, similarly, less than seven people, whether two, three, four or five people can participate in its sacrifice. For this reason, the Qurbani of the questioner and the others who participated in this sacrifice is valid.
