What’s the Rule of Women Wearing Platinum Rings?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

What’s the rule of women wearing platinum rings?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

According to Shari’ah, it is makruh for men and women to wear rings made from iron, brass, copper, and lead. i

Rings made from platinum are normally made out of pure platinum metal and not alloys. Hence it is not permissible for a woman to wear a platinum ring.

It would be permissible to sell the platinum ring and purchase another ring. Alternatively, you may get the ring silver or gold plated. It would then be permissible for you to wear. ii

Only Allah knows best.
