Want to write will

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
Can you please advise me on inheritance the Islamic way. I have to children and I am divorced. I am 64 years of age and I want to make a will soon. I shall be most grateful for your advice.
There are two different ways of writing a will. One is what has to be done after death, counseling on the distribution of wealth in accordance with the Shariah. If someone is receiving more or less outside of Shariah than he/she should be counseled to refrain from it. it’s better to consult with scholars as well about both of them. If you want to know all the details of what each portion should have then you have send us a detailed question. In that response we would have to elucidate whether it’s a woman who’s husband died or alive or her parents are alive or not and how many children does she have etc…

Second thing is that a person wants to distribute wealth in his life so there is no discord after his death, and there is a way of doing this as well.

If a person distributes his wealth while alive than he should be fair in his distribution between daughters and sons.
This is what the scholars have said.
