Confusion in Expiation for breaking oath

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

Assalamoalaikum!
I broke an oath that i would never lie (example, its something else). In my expiation
fasts, there was a gap of days b/w the 2nd and 3rd fast. In those days astaghfirullah i committed the sin of lying(the sin a oathed not to break). Is my expiation void/valid? JazakAllahu Khayrun,

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

In order to make up for an oath that was broken: if you are unable to feed feed or clothe the poor, then it is fine to keep three concecutive fasts. These fast have to be consectutive. Therefore, if you fasted two days, and did not keep the third fast, then you will need to keep all three fasts again.

You do not have to keep additional fasts for lying the second time. However, you should continue making Tawba.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best
