Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

1) As long as a person does not attribute these to the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), it will be permissible to carry out these Amals.

2) Hadhrat Mawlana Yunus Patel Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) suggested the following for a person looking for a spouse:

Recite eleven times Durud Shareef, then recite Ya Jaami’u one hundred and eleven times, then recite Ya Kareemu one hundred and eleven times, then recite Durud Shareef again eleven times, and thereafter make Dua.

Also, do not underestimate the Dua after every prayer.
