Question

What is Sajdah-e-Tilawah?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Sajdah Tilawat is those 14 Ayahs in the Qur’an which makes sajdah necessary when it is read or heard in the prayer or outside the prayer.[1]

Even if the listener does not intend to listen to the verses, still it is wajib (compulsory) upon him to do the sajdah.[2]
