Question

What is the reference for this Hadith?

مرحبا بالطيب المطيب

Answer

This is part of a narration regarding Sayyiduna ‘Ammar ibn Yasir (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) recorded in Sunan Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majah and other Hadith collections.

Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported: “I was once seated with Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) when ‘Ammar ibn Yasir sought permission [to enter]. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘Allow him in, Welcome to the pure purified one.’”

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3798, Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 146)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic (hasanun sahih).
