Q. Is one allowed to drop ones hands to ones side when the Imam finishes a Surah, before he can say Allahu Akbar for the Ruku?

A. It is incorrect to drop the hands to the side before the Takbeer (Allahu Akbar). The hands should remain tied until the Takbeer for Ruku is made. Dropping the hands before the Takbeer of Ruku is considered Makrooh (disliked). (Badaai-us-Sanaai’ 1/201)
