Working as a security guard for a supermarket selling alcohol and pork

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. Can a Muslim work as a security guard for a non-Muslim owned supermarket or to provided them with security services that mostly sells groceries etc. with some alcohol and pork as well?

A. It is permitted for a Muslim to take a job as a security guard for a non-Muslim owned supermarket or for a Muslim security company to offer their security services to a non-Muslim owned supermarket provided that the major source (51% or more) of income of the supermarket (from where payment for security services is made) is derived from Halaal sources or Halaal products sold at the supermarket.

If, however, the major source of income (51% or more) is derived from Haraam sources or Haraam products sold at the supermarket including alcohol and pork, then it would not be permissible for a Muslim to take a job as a security guard or offer any security services to the non-Muslim supermarket.
