Why Is The Prophet ﷺ Called ‘Mustapha’?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Question: Assalamu Alaikum,

Why was prophet Muhammed (pbuh) called Mustapha?

Answer: Assalamu Alaikum,

‘Mustapha’ in Arabic means ‘chosen’, and seeing that The Prophet (s.a.w) was the ‘chosen one’ as a Prophet, Messenger, the greatest and Seal of all Prophets, he is called by this name.

And Allah Knows Best.
