How Many Divorces Occur if a Husband Uses two Talaq Baains?

Question

My question is if a person uses kinayah words for divorce and uses kinayah words for divorce again in one sitting is this counted as one divorce or two divorces.

I have been told that if a person uses kinayah words then one talaaq bain will occur and any other divorces given after this will not count as the wife will be a complete stranger and it will be invalid and in order to get back together you will have to renew your nikkah.

Answer:

If a person uses kinayah words twice one after another to his wife, then only one Talaq Baain (irrevocable divorce) will occur. The second kinayah word will be considered futile.  (Raddul Muhtar)
