Is it haram to own a shisha business
Answer:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
Muslim scholars have differed on the issue of whether smoking cigarettes or shisha [hooka] is forbidden [haram] or prohibitively disliked [makruh tahrimi].
“And do not put yourselves into destruction.” (Surah Al Baqarah V.195)
To be on the safe side it is best that one avoids consuming or selling cigarettes or shisha. The Prophet said: “The halal is clear and the haram is clear.” (Forty Hadith Nawawi, Hadith 6)
