Can women wear pants or show her feet during prayers

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

In Islam, can woman wear pants and/or show her feet, during prayer?

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحي

In reagrds to your questions:

  1. Woman wearing pants

Its written in ‘Ahsanul Fatawa’:

“if the clothing is such that, by wearing it, the females body parts and shape are visible and noticeable, this is not permissible and even performing salaah with those types of clothing won’t be permissible.”[1]

  1. Feet visible during Salaah

And the Satr of the female is…her full body… besides her face, her hands and feet.[2]

Therefore, a woman must cover herself properly when performing Salat. Everything besides the face, hands and feet must be covered.

Only Allah knows best.
