Q:
1. If the girl’s side has the nikah and the boy’s side has the walimah a week later, is that considered a walimah?
2. If the above is not considered as the walimah, can the supper that the girl’s side provide after the nikah at the masjid be considered as the walimah in order to fulfill the sunnah?
A: The waleemah is done after the marriage is consummated. If the marriage was consummated a week later and thereafter there was the waleemah it is correct.
