Assalamu alaykum, First I want to thank you for the work you are doing, may Allah reward you with his greatest reward. My question is following: I want to know am I commiting shirk, if I use games, programs or watch movies that in themselves contain soundtracks which have text or songs with text like (‘feel like god’ (the singer(he or she))). Am I commiting shirk with using those games, programs or watching those movies? Is it enough to turn off those specific songs and keep using the above mentioned (games or programs)? If those games, programs or movies are on my computer, and they contain such songs, am I commiting shirk by using those games or programs? I should mention, that I suspect it could be a waswas so I need the answer. Thank you. Assalamu alaykum!

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
At the outset, it is not permissible to play games and watch movies. All that falls in the category of lahwa [1] (futile activities) which is expressly prohibited in the Quran.
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ
“And from among the people, there is he who buys the distracting amusement of things, so that he, being devoid of knowledge, may mislead (people) from the Way of Allah and make a mockery of it. Such people are the ones for whom there is a disgraceful punishment” (36:6)
Furthermore, music is also haram. The words of kufr and shirk compound the sin[2] . A Muslim ought to be sensitive to his Iman and avoid all avenues of kufr and shirk.
