Is this Hadith reliable?
ما أحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا ذا تقى
Answer:
Imam Abu Ya’la (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha). ‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the chain sound (hasan).
(Musnad Abi Ya’la, Hadith: 4552, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10 pg. 274)
Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded the narration with slight variation in the wording.
(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 6 pg. 69, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 8 pg. 84)
Translation
Sayyidatuna ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha) said:
‘Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) only loved those who had Taqwa.’
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
