Another virtue of Sayyiduna ‘Umar ibn Al Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

I am searching for the Hadith, wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said that some people of the Bani Israel were inspired [by Allah to the truth and to say the correct things] without them being Prophets. If it had to be someone from my Ummah [who was inspired] it would have been ‘Umar ibn Al Khattab.

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3469 and 3689)

Also see here for a similar virtue of Sayyiduna ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
