Imam Mirak (rahimahullah)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

In Mirqatul Mafatih. Mulla ‘Ali Qari quotes different scholars. Sometimes he says قال ميرك. Who is this Shaykh?

Answer

This is Imam Nasimud Din, Muhammad ibnul Amir Jamaluddin Ash-Shirazi (rahimahullah).

He hailed from Shiraz and lived in the tenth century of Islam.

Not much is known about him besides the fact that he was from a family of knowledge. His father was a senior ‘Alim who authored several books.

Imam Mirak was also known as the senior Hadith Scholar in his era. He engaged in teaching Hadith lessons after his Father’s demise (rahimahumallah).

He is also said to have written a commentary of Shamail Tirmidhi.

Note: The word Mirak, is Persian, and translates as: a small leader. He is also referred to as: Mirak Shah.
