An unauthentic narration regarding salutations [durud] and loving ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“I asked Jibril, ‘Which actions are the most beloved to Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla’? He replied, ‘Salutations upon you O Muhammad and loving ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib’”

Answer

Imam Daylami (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration through a chain that consists of a liar. The Hadith is not suitable to quote.

(Dhaylul La-Alil Masnu’ah, vol. 1 pg. 255, Hadith: 289, Tanzihush Shari’ah, vol. 3 pg. 398. Refer: Lisanul Mizan, vol. 3 pg. 67)

There are numerous other reliable virtues for sending salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
