The reward for a miscarried child

Is there a Hadith which states that a miscarried fetus will take its parents to Jannah?

Answer

1) Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The miscarried fetus will plead with its Rabb if his parents are admitted to Jahannam. It will be said: ‘O fetus who pleads with your Rabb! Admit your parents to Paradise.’ So he will drag them with his umbilical cord and admit them into Jannah”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1608)

2) Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Jabal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! The miscarried fetus will drag his mother by his umbilical cord to Jannah, if she anticipated reward”

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1609)

Although the chain of narrators of both these Hadiths are weak, they support each other. The Hadith is suitable to quote.

(Refer: Zawaid Ibn Majah of ‘Allamah Busiri, pg. 235, Hadith: 548 and Hadith: 549. Also see footnotes of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah on Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 12002 and 12009)

The Arabic word used in this Hadith is ‘سقط’ which refers to A stillborn child/miscarried fetus whose features and limbs are partially formed

(Refer: An Nihayah Fi Gharibil Hadith, vol. 1 pg. 786, Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 2010 and footnotes of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah on Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 12008)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
