A Hadith on loving Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)

What is the authenticity of the following narration?

“My love is not mixed into the heart of a person, except that Allah will make his body haram upon Jahannam”

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith as part of a lengthier narration. The Hadith however has been transmitted with a chain that consists of a fabricator and is therefore not suitable to quote.

(Hilyatul Awliya, vol. 7 pg. 255. Refer: Lisanul Mizan, vol. 2 pg. 181 -1259-. Also see Al Mudawi of Ahmad Siddiq Al Ghumari, Hadith: (7798)/2987)

There are many authentic Hadiths which encourage loving Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) even more that one’s self. These should be quoted instead.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
