Sending salutations on Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to see him in a dream?

Is it authentic that if a person sends salutations on the body and soul of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), he will see him in a dream and will see him on the day of resurrection?

Answer

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has cited the following narration. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whoever sends salutations on the soul of Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) above all other souls, on his body above all other bodies and on his grave above all graves, will see me in a dream. Whoever sees me in a dream, will see me on the Day of Qiyamah. Whoever sees me on the Day of Qiyamah, I will intercede on his behalf and whomsoever I intercede on behalf of, will drink from my pond and Allah will make his body haram on Jahannam”

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) states that he has not come across any basis/source for this narration.

(Al Qawlul Badi’, pg. 117)

These words maybe recited as a general form of durud, but the rewards mentioned above need to be substantiated before being anticipated.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
