Making dua in sajdah after namaaz

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the ruling regarding making dua in sajda after completing namaz?

Bismillaah

A: If you are referring to making sajda-e-shukr or sajda-e-tilaawat, then it is permissible to make dua at the time when one makes these sajdas. However, the Fuqaha have mentioned that one should refrain from making sajda immediately after the Salaah as this will lead to people regarding this as a Sunnat.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
