Is It Permissible To Name a Child Ansarallah?

Question:

Is It Permissible To Name a Child Ansarallah?

Answer:

Assalamu alaykum,

Self-glorification (tazkiya)

Thank you for your question. It is disliked to name a child by this name because ‘Helpers of Allah’ contains self-glorification. Please see those details here;

Singular

My teacher recommends a singular name of the recommended names, such as prophet, companion, or angel, or the names of great historical figures, or even the name of a notable family member. An honorific name could be used as a second or compound name, such as Nasiruddeen, the ‘helper of the religion.’

One could use Nasir or Zaheer, both mean ‘helper’ or choose any other name with a good meaning because it will have an effect on one’s personality:

May Allah bless you in what has been granted to you, and may you thank the Giver. May he reach maturity, and may you be granted kind treatment by him.
