Concerning the question: “Is it permissible to use a vibrator during intercourse?”
Assalam Alaikum,
Could you please add the following. It might be important as the vibrator is actually common practice between Muslim couples:
Something like a vibrator should only be used [f: by the other spouse, not by the person themselves, as this is unlawful masturbation] as a supplement and not a substitute, if used at all, for the following reasons:
a. It can cause laziness on the man’s part (we don’t need anymore reasons to be lazy, knowing us men).
b. It is unnatural and thus could prevent the bond between the husband and his wife that sexual relations provides/enforces.
c. It is not a “solution” if the man cannot get his wife to orgasm; a man must be able to get his wife to orgasm if he’s a man. The departure from Maru’ah (manhhod) can easily cause the man to avoid other responsibilities and/or cause the wife not to listen to him, or at the very least lower her respect for himconsciously or subconsciously.
Hence, even though its fiqh ruling is permissible as pointed by Sheikh Amjadmay Allah reward himit is probably best to avoid a vibrator altogether, whether the intention is to spice up one’s relations or even to use it as a last resort.
And Allah Most High alone knows best.
