Preventing one’s younger children getting married before one’s elder children

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. Some parents do not allow their younger daughters to get married before their elder daughters get married. Is there a basis for this in Islam?

A. There is no basis in preventing one’s younger sons/daughters getting married before one’s elder sons/daughters in Islam.

If any of one’s younger or elder children is of age and a suitable match in marriage is found, it is incorrect to delay their marriage.
