Does lying about a divorce terminate a Nikah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by TheMufti.com

Q. My husband posted on Facebook that he is divorced, single and is looking for a wife. I asked him regarding the divorce and he said that he lied and he hasn’t divorced me. Does this break our Nikah?

A. If a husband has not issued his wife a divorce and he lies to others that he is divorced or single for whatever reason, his Nikah with his wife remains valid and intact.

Thus, in the enquired case, as your husband has acknowledged that he has lied to others that he is divorced, your Nikah with your husband remains valid and intact. (Shaami 3/238)
