Owls -A good or bad omen?

Q. I have owls living around my house. Is it good or bad?

A. In Islam, an owl is not considered to be a bad omen as was understood in the past.

Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:

There is no Hammah (bad omen from owls) (Bukhari)

Hence, there is no harm in owls living around ones house.
