Leather sock removal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

I usually do wudhu and wear leather socks over my normal socks. When at the airport, during security checks, they ask us to take the leather socks off, for about 2 minutes, and then we can put them back on. Do the socks still qualify for wudhu after having been removed, or does it require that I wash the feet again?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits. You would need to wash your feet again, if you had performed wudu (after breaking it) with them on prior to it.
