Is it bidat to call our Prophet’s (sallallahu alayhi wasallam grave) ‘roza’?

Question

Is it bidat to call our Prophet grave ‘roza’?

Answer

No it is not bid’at. It is respect. Rawdha means ‘garden’. The area between his house and his mimbar is called ‘Rawdhatun min riyadhil jannah’ A garden from the gardens of jannah. So why would his grave not be a rawdha. It is reported in Sahih al Bukhari;

One hadith (in Tirmidhi) says;

‘Qabr is either a garden from the gardens of Jannah’

So Rasulullah‘s (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) qabr is definitely a Rawdha.
