Is Qazaa namaz the Adaa?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

I have a number of years of missed salaat to make up for. I want to know the method of performing qadhaa as I’ve never actually been taught this.

Do u read them exactly the same as the adaa salaat or are there some differences?

I’ve heard for example:

  • Only to say the tasbeeh in ruku and sajda once
  • In 3rd and 4th rakaats only say subhanallah thrice instead of surah fatiha
  • In final qaidah after tashahud only pray first part of durood.

Is this correct? Jazakallah for your help.

Answer

Qadha anamaz is exactly the same as adaa. Someone told you the above in order to make qadhaa quick and easy for you. It would be correct to do what you’ve said.
