When I was about 19 years old I had a non-Muslim boyfriend ,with whom I have close relation, physically I had kissed and hugged him quite often. But one year later I ended all this and made tauba to Allah and since then have been leading a good clean life. Now I am 24 and parents are having lot of difficulties finding a groom for me. Every time I get a proposal, things look bright and seem to workout but in the end they do not. I pray five times, and have asked for “maafi” from Allah for my sins. Still things are not happening. Is it a punishment for me for what I did? Please help me and tell any specific dua I can do to attain maafi and a suitable groom.
If a person makes a mistake he should repent which will allow him to seek forgiveness from Allah. A person will become as if he has not done anything in the past by repenting. He will start a new life after that, so, you not finding a husband has nothing to do with your previous issues. If you continue to pray you will find somebody who is suitable for you at a time when it is destined for you to get married. If you can recite the Koran everyday when you should read sura yasin three times and make a prayer, which will be excepted if Allah wills. You should think that Allah loves you because such feedings will give you the incentive to repent towards him and appreciate him for changing your wrong past to a better present. Without his will and desire no change can take place.
