Can we use jakets, coats, books etc., as sutrah in front of a praying person

1) Can we use our jackets, Coats, books, Umbrella as a sutrah (screen) in front when we are praying?
2) In order to cross some one, can we place these items in front of the person if we need to course them?
If a person wants to put something in front him while praying he/she can. If a person wants to pass through a praying person then if he is carrying an umbrella he/she can put it on the ground and do it.
