sunnah way of sajdah – applying perfume – ring

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
Q-1 In sajdah is it sunnah to keep the heels of the feet touching each other or is it sunnah to keep the feet apart ?
Q-2 What is the sunnah method of applying perfume, on which part of the hand should the perfume (itr) be applied ?
Q-3 Is it permissible for males to wear a taweez ring which has huroof-e-muqattaat engraved on the ring ?
It’s important to keep one’s feet on the ground in the sajdah and this is sunnah and also the order. Previously the question was about whether or not the prayer breaks if someone kept his or her feet above the ground, we gave a response to that. Along with this you have to keep other things on the ground as well like knees, forehead, and nose etc.
The proper way of applying scent is that one should put at the back of one’s hands. Some people try to avoid this because its taste is bitter which is fine. There is not prescribed method of applying scent.

You can wear a ring with the letters of quran on it but you should take it out before going to the bathroom.
