Buying a house

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org
Is it permissible for a person buying a house (first time buyer)to take mortgage. Bearing in mind his financial condition is not good enough and he lives in a rented property.
There is no specific condition mentioned in the books saying that buying a first home is fine but the second one is not. If something were haram then the rules of illegality would entail every element without any distinction. So, in this case the first and second would be the same. People who say this have fabricated that since buying a home is so necessary that the first one is permissible. This is not right according to our research.
